Platelets are one of the three types of the blood cells. They are known for their role in coagulation. They also help significantly the healing of lesions and injuries. In the platelets there are substances called Growth Factors. Growth Factors regulate healing and regeneration of bones, tendons, muscles, ligaments and cartilage of the joints. The use of our own platelets in high concentration as a treatment modality is called PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma).
